Sorkins Directories is one of the leading publishers of value-added regional business information for three major metropolitan areas in the United States:  St. Louis, Kansas City, and Chicago.   

Sorkins descriptions surpass the truncated and uninformative blurbs available in other reference sources, as they are originally written and tell what a company does and how it came to be.  Listings are longer and offer more contact names, full titles, and responsibilities.

The editing done in the Sorkins Directories is intense by any standard, with listings tied together horizontally by compiling all locations of a company within a single listing, rather than as separate companies as reference books often do. 

Sorkins continually updates its indexing system to reflect changes in the industrial world.  When users need to find all of the companies within a given industry, a more intuitive system is available--one that provides familiar industry titles in an order that makes sense.  Companies may be indexed by production method, marketing method, or market served.

Sorkins collects its research from a variety of sources, e.g., trade magazines, industry publications, press releases, etc.  Reporters are constantly contacting companies to obtain additional information.  Portions of the Sorkins database are updated on a daily basis, with companies contacted every 9 to 12 months for new information.
