HRMC has a unique advantage over other outplacement providers in that we’re small enough to be extremely flexible and responsive, yet able to provide industry-leading job search technology. We often use the example of an HR manager looking for a new position in St. Louis. Our research has shown that the technology used by other firms to obtain job leads uncovers an average of five to seven positions, while HRMC's software regularly produces an average of 65 to 70--10 times as many!
We have employees scattered throughout the country, some in remote locations. Can you service people outside the Midwest?
Yes! Our partnerships allow us the ability to provide resources to clients worldwide. Whether it's a combination of phone/webcam conferencing and online technology, assignment to a member of our vast network of career consultants, or referral to a partner office in their location, HRMC guarantees the same quality service to all clients, regardless of location.
I’d like to provide a displaced employee with some resources, but have a very limited budget. Isn’t outplacement expensive?
First, congratulations on having great intentions. Outplacement is a very worthwhile investment in the eyes of your former colleague, as well as your retained employees. While we have a standard menu of programs, HRMC designs each service offering based on the needs of the client and budgetary requirements of the customer. No matter your budget, we can create a program that will be cost effective, while still providing a tremendous resource for your displaced coworkers.
My company is going to close a department and terminate a large group of people at once. Can you serve their needs?
Yes. We have extensive experience providing programs for large groups. We can design group programs, during which all participants go through the entire process together; group JumpStarts, during which participants go through classes together and then begin individual programs; or individual programs for each participant. The solution chosen is based on the needs of the employees and the stipulations of the employer.
I have a new manager who’s going to have to terminate several employees. She’s never done this before, and to be effective, she needs some training. Can you help?
Yes. After more than 20 years experience managing career transitions, HRMC consultants are well versed in notification meetings. We provide each manager with a guide book that explains the correct way to conduct a termination meeting. HRMC consultants can also come on-site and train managers, including conducting mock terminations. HRMC consultants are also available to meet with displaced employees immediately following the termination meeting.
I’m going to have to terminate some lower-level, non-exempt employees. Do you have programs for non-executives?
Yes. HRMC works with people at all levels of experience, education, and responsibility. We allow employers to design programs that best meet the needs of the employees, from a workshop to an unlimited program with administrative support. We serve all clients with the same dedication to their success, regardless of their former title.
Yes. HRMC’s Active Retirement Program is designed for individuals in this phase of their lives. It includes coaching and assessment instruments to help them make effective decisions for the future. In addition, financial planning services are offered through Plaza Financial Advisors to assist with dealing with severance packages, taxes, and other financial issues.
