Competency Identification
Competencies are, simply put, abilities to do something--communicate in writing, solve problems, manage diversity, deal with ambiguity, and so forth. Many companies include competencies in position descriptions and job postings without a clear explanation of what skills are involved or an established definition.
HRMC provides a simple, yet powerful, tool that helps managers at all levels identify the "critical few" competencies (6 to 10) that are key for success in a particular position.
